How repair works

From the counter to your truck in five steps

No surprises. You approve the price before we touch a screw.

  1. Drop it off

Bring the tool, battery and charger to our shop. Most tools need no appointment.

  2. We diagnose

A technician opens it up, tests the motor, switch and electronics, and finds the real fault.

  3. You approve

We call or text a written estimate with parts and labour. Say yes, or take it back at no charge.

  4. Repair & test

We fit quality parts, clean and lubricate the gearbox, then load-test on the bench.

  5. Pick it up

We let you know the moment it's ready. Your repair is covered by our workmanship warranty.

About the shop

25 years on the same bench

Toronto Tool Repairs started as a one-bench shop repairing tools for local contractors. A quarter century later, we still work the same way: a real technician takes your tool apart, tells you plainly what's wrong, and only fixes what needs fixing.

Replacing a pro-grade tool can cost hundreds of dollars. A repair often costs a fraction of that and keeps a tool you already trust in service.

  • Free, no-obligation estimates
  • Honest advice when a repair isn't worth it
  • Every tool load-tested before it goes home
  • Workmanship warranty on parts and labour

Questions

Before you bring it in

Can't find your answer? Call the shop and ask a technician.

How much does a tool repair cost?

It depends on the fault and the parts. We inspect the tool first and give you a written estimate before any work begins. If you decide not to repair, you take the tool back at no charge.

How long does a repair take?

Most common repairs, such as brushes, switches and cords, are finished within a few business days. Parts that must be ordered from the manufacturer can take longer, and we'll tell you the timeline up front.

Do you repair tools that are still under manufacturer warranty?

Bring it in and we'll check. Some warranty claims must go through the brand's own service centre, and we'll tell you honestly when that's your better option.

Should I bring the battery and charger?

Yes. Many "dead tool" problems are really battery or charger faults. Bringing all three lets us test the whole system and find the real cause.

Is it worth repairing an older tool?

Often, yes. Professional tools are built to be serviced. If a repair would cost close to the price of a new tool, we'll say so and let you decide.
